Nestled in the vibrant heart of Maxvorstadt at Turkenstraße 69, Cafe Paulo is a charming corner café that has quickly become a beloved spot for coffee aficionados and casual visitors alike. This intimate, laid-back venue effortlessly blends a cozy atmosphere with top-tier espresso experiences, making it a hidden gem in Munich’s bustling café scene.
Stepping into Cafe Paulo feels like finding a little sanctuary of calm amid the urban rhythm. The friendly staff welcome you warmly, adding to the relaxed vibe that invites you to linger over your cup. The coffee here is more than just a drink—it’s an experience. Whether you’re savoring a perfectly pulled espresso or enjoying an iced café latte on a warm day, each sip is crafted with evident care and expertise. As one delighted visitor, Veselin, remarked, it’s “one of the top places in Maxvorstadt to sip on a top notch espresso,” and that praise truly resonates with anyone seeking an elevated coffee moment.
Beyond the exquisite coffee, Cafe Paulo also impresses with its selection of indulgent treats. The chocolate croissants come highly recommended for their buttery layers and rich cocoa notes—a sensory delight that perfectly complements their drinks. Vegan options do not fall short here; Naya’s memorable encounter with the “best vegan hot chocolate ever” speaks volumes about the café’s commitment to catering to diverse tastes without compromising on flavor or warmth.
While the offerings focus primarily on superb coffee and snacks, customers appreciate the genuine warmth and attentiveness of the staff. Omar fondly notes the friendliness alongside the quality, making visitors feel right at home. Though some moments suggest a brisk pace—such as a waiter clearing dishes a bit too quickly after finishing a drink—the overall sense is one of efficiency balanced with personal touch.
For those who cherish nuanced, expertly brewed espresso and an inviting, unpretentious place to settle in, Cafe Paulo is undoubtedly worth a visit. It’s a spot that not only celebrates the craft of coffee but also welcomes a diverse community—from hurried passersby to slow-sipping enthusiasts, making every visit feel a little like discovering a secret you want to keep.

One of the top places in Maxvorstadt to sip on a top notch espresso. The vibe and the location are both 10/10 and you should definitely come if you consider yourself an above average espresso enjoyer :)

The coffee and cake (vegan) were great!!! but the waiter took my coffee right when I drank the last sip. He wanted to take the cake too but I didn't finish it. Not sure what's the rush.
